In conjunction with the IND's 150th Anniversary in 1997, the Athletic Hall of Fame was established to honor Alumnae for their outstanding athletic achievements at IND.  The Hall of Fame also honors former coaches and athletic directors who have made outstanding contributions to the success of IND Athletics over the years.

Every year nominations are solicited through the Alumnae newsletter and on this website.  Nominees are contacted and asked to submit information on their behalf to be taken before the Selection Committee.  Up to five new members may be inducted each year by attaining a 75% majority vote of the committee.  Each inductee receives a personal plaque and an engraved nameplate on the Hall of Fame plaque located in the Marion I. Knott Gymnasium.
